Believing that small choices can make a difference, Equilibro Azul works with local
fisherman to develop sustainable practices and ward off seabed-destroying shrimp trawlers.
But as the film says, if the kids don’t care about the oceans, what adults do won’t matter.

"Piano Improvisations by Rich Smith: 5th Grade Eurythmy Skips & Freeze Dance 11/11/2011"
Piano Improvisations and Video by Rich Smith ℗ & © 2011 Rich Smith

The children follow one another in a twisting and turning line around the Eurythmy Hall, while doing whichever skips and movements the leader initiates. It can be a wild ride of the "Black Horse" a flowing and graceful or even bluesy walk, a monstrous stomp, or any other inventive skip. My eyes follow the children and teacher while I improvise music on the piano to match their movements. "Freeze Dance" is one of the fun games they like to play: they have to match the music with their movements and freeze when the music stops. Whoever doesn't stop in time is "out" and this continues until there is a winner or the class is over.

Eurythmy is an expressive movement art originated by Rudolf Steiner in conjunction with Marie von Sivers in the early 20th century. Primarily a performance art, it is also used in education -- especially in Waldorf schools -- and as a movement therapy.
